UPDATE ON EFFECTS OF COVID-19 ON ROCHDALE TOWN CENTRE 28/07/2020

Rochdale BID want to keep you updated with the latest news, information and advice during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Please check our website daily for more updates for businesses and website individuals.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme updates

The government has launched a new calculator to help employers with their next CJRS claims.

Employers can use the calculator to work out how much they have to pay their furloughed and flexibly furloughed employees, how much they can claim for employer National Insurance contributions and pension contributions and how much they can claim back.

You can access the new job retention calculator here: https://bit.ly/CJRSCalculator

Please note that the calculator will be updated to reflect changes to the scheme over the coming months.

In addition, employers can now also download a template if you're claiming for 100 or more employees through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (for claims on or after 1 July 2020).

You can download the new template here: https://bit.ly/CJRSTemplate

Eat Out to Help Out

Diners will soon be able to get money off their bill on certain days in August to encourage a return to cafes, pubs and restaurants.

The promotion gives people a discount of up to 50% when eating or drinking soft drinks in a participating restaurant or other food establishment.

It is valid all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 31 August

The maximum discount available is £10 per person when you eat or drink in.

Food and drink will appear on the menu at full price, and the restaurant will deduct the money off the bill and claim it back from the government.

The discount is only available on food and drink that you intend to consume on the premises, and can be used as many times as you like.

There is no limit on how many people can use the discount in one party, and it includes children.

The discount cannot be used on alcoholic drinks, service charges or food for a private function or event.

At this time, the following Rochdale Town Centre venues are taking part:

  • Bombay Brew
  • Russells Café
  • Bean
  • Regal Moon
  • Flying Horse
  • Medicine Tap
  • Baum
  • Petit Bistro
  • Vicolo Del Vino
