BID Support for Members COVID–19 19 March 2020

BID Support for Members COVID–19

We find ourselves in the midst of an unprecedented public health emergency which is having an impact on all of our businesses.  The Coronavirus situation is rapidly evolving with new advice and guidance being issued daily.

Rochdale BID remains open and operational and as your Business Improvement District our role is to support our member businesses through these difficult times.  To do this we have created a four-point action plan that we will implement to keep you informed, share your messages and best practice and represent our members.

  1. Keeping Businesses Informed

We will use our communication channels including our website, email databases and social media to keep you up to date with the latest news and guidance around Coronavirus.  We will include links to the latest health messages and direct you to the latest information on business related matters.

Action: Keep checking https://www.rochdaletowncentre.co.uk/ and our social media platforms Facebook Twitter Instagram for the latest information

  1. Keeping the Public Informed About BID Businesses, #RochdaleTogether

We will use our social media platforms and email databases to keep the public informed about what our businesses are doing and how customers can continue to support you during this trying time.

Action: Share any news you would like us to share with a consumer audience using #RochdaleTogether and tagging our channels.  Please let us know if you have or will have:

  • A delivery service
  • Gift vouchers
  • A website where purchases can be made
  • Take away food/drink
  • Crowdfunder
  • And anything else!
  1. Share Best Practice.

Coronavirus is a national crisis therefore other cities, BIDs and businesses will be facing many of the same issues as Rochdale.  We will seek out what other organisations are doing to help themselves through the coming weeks and months and share best practice with our members.

Action: The BID Team will keep you updated.

  1. Represent our Businesses

The speed at which the Coronavirus situation is moving means the true impact on businesses is yet to be seen.  We will represent our businesses by engaging with key decision makers in both local and central government, to ensure they understand the impact on businesses and the city. We will also work with our partners on a co-ordinated approach to supporting businesses.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the BID office at admin@rochdalebid.co.uk or 07811278517
