2015 festival venues named

The official venues for Rochdale Feel Good Festival have been announced.  6 indoor venues will be hosting live performances before and during the summer showcase of entertainment, food and culture.

 

The Flying Horse Hotel (Town Hall Square), Yate’s (Fleece Street) and The Chocolate Bar (Yorkshire Street) will all stage free live music during the event.  Ellenroad Steam Museum stage an afternoon of folk and Irish music on Sunday 2 August.

 

Mecca Bingo on Smith Street host a comedy night headlined by Phoenix Nights Live star Steve Royle, and Rochdale Town Hall will once again have a charity abseil from the top of its 190 foot clock tower on Saturday, as well as guided tours on the Friday at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm of the Grade 1 listed attraction.

 

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September.  In addition to a programme of entertainment in the indoor venues the free festival includes a main stage sponsored by The Flying Horse Hotel. There will be a second outdoor stage, a food market, plus a Celebrity Kitchen stage sponsored by Hopwood Hall College all on Milton Street West Car Park, opposite Number One Riverside.   The South headline on Saturday, alongside Toploader, Kirsty Almeida and The Uplifters amongst others. Celebrity chefs including Rachel Khoo and Kevin Woodford will be cooking at the festival.

 

The summer festival is funded by Rochdale Borough Council with sponsorship from local businesses including Hopwood Hall College, The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale Football Club, 02 Rochdale, Balfour Beatty Living, Link4Life and The Royal Toby.
