Acceptable Behaviour Scheme

Action Against Business Crime Chief Executive Michael Schuck has awarded Rochdale Business Crime Reduction Partnership with the Safer Business Award.

A Shopwatch scheme was first established in Rochdale back in 1998 with just a handful of shopkeepers taking part. It now covers over 90 businesses in the town including the late night economy all of who are linked by a town centre radio network to Police, CCTV and shopping centres.

Rochdale Town Centre Management has consolidated the partnership and built up the new initiatives such as the ACIS (Active Crime Intelligence System) computer which helps businesses to manage their undesirables! This is another example of why we have achieved the award.

The award has been introduced by the Home Office led organization to help towns and cities publicize their achievements and help to reassure the public against the fear of crime.
Town Centre Management, GMP and RMBC helped to make this happen together via the Safer Communities Partnership.

If you would like further information about the scheme and how to become a member, contact Town Centre Management on 01706 926676.

Rochdale Business Crime Reduction Partnership was awarded the Safer Business Award in 2005 which lasted for a period of 3 years.  We have just secured reaccreditation for a further 3 years. This just proves that the work and commitment by all has been most productive and a benefit to the members.
