The annual Rochdale Christmas Market returns to the town centre from Tuesday 20th to Friday 23rd December.
This year the market will be bigger and better than ever, with over 30 stalls which will extend down Lower Yorkshire Street and onto the Butts.
Traders will be transforming the town into a festive winter wonderland, with stalls selling a wide range of tempting food and last minute Christmas gifts, from toys and books to fashion and accessories.
There’ll be bespoke jewellery, crafts from around the world, handbags, candles, hats, gloves and handmade soaps to treat your loved ones. You can also pick up some special fudge, sweets, olives, gourmet sausages, mince pies, Christmas pudding and maybe even some ostrich or kangaroo meat for something different around the Christmas dinner table!
While you’re browsing the wide selection of stalls, you can indulge in a mug of Bailey’s hot chocolate or perhaps a mulled wine! And keep your energy up with a delicious crepe, polish sausage or pie and peas.
Stallholders from around Europe will be joining local traders and hundreds of people are expected to visit the market which is open daily from 10 am – 6 pm. There will also be live Christmas music from Rochdale Music Service at lunchtimes on Lord Square.
Cllr Sultan Ali, Chair of Rochdale Township said:
"The Christmas Market brings people into our town centre to enjoy a range of stalls and traditional entertainment, as well as benefiting local businesses. I do hope people will come and support it. You'll find bustling stalls filled with fabulous seasonal treats and gifts right here in Rochdale.”
The Christmas market is part of a programme of entertainment in town during the busy run up to Christmas Eve organized by Rochdale Town Centre Management and supported by Rochdale Township. Also from Monday 19 December until Christmas Eve you can get Christmas gifts wrapped for free in the two shopping centres when purchased in Rochdale town centre.
