Rochdale’s football squad will parade along the Esplanade in the town centre on Sunday (9 May) before attending a civic reception at the town hall.
Final details of the celebrations, hosted by Rochdale Borough Council to mark the squad’s promotion to League One have been announced.
The team are expected to arrive at the town hall by open top bus at 2pm. At approximately 2.20pm they are due to appear on the town hall balcony alongside the Mayor to toast their success.
Fans are welcome to assemble along the Esplanade, which will be closed to traffic, where the bus will slow down to enable fans to get the best and safest view.
The Mayor, Councillor Keith Swift is hoping everyone will come and show their support:
"I am encouraging as many people as possible to come and watch the team arrive at the town hall and show the team our support. Their success means a lot to the borough and we're hopeful of a large turnout. It’s been an exceptional year for Rochdale Football Club. The manager, players and everyone connected with the club have worked so hard this season so we’re delighted to help them celebrate their thoroughly deserved success.”
