Rochdale Town Centre Management Column - February 2010

Welcome to the February 2010 Town Centre Management column. Each month we bring you the news and events from Rochdale town centre and its businesses so that you don’t miss out on the many fantastic things happening in and around the town.

One of the first bits of great news I can share with you is the Rochdale Tourist Information Centre which has been recognised as one the best in the UK when it comes to visitor satisfaction. Visit England, the organisation responsible for tourism in England rated Rochdale’s centre the best in Greater Manchester, and ranked it 22nd out of over 300 Tourist Information Centres nationwide. RTCM would like to pass on their congratulations to the TIC. And if you do make a visit to our fabulous TIC at Touchstones gallery and museum you will find that they are handing out new town centre maps to help visitors find their way around. The full colour, A4 maps pinpoint the attractions and shopping areas in the town centre as well as car parks and main public transport links. The maps are being produced jointly by Rochdale Council and Link4Life and will also help the Town Centre Ambassadors give directions to visitors.

Another success story is one of the many quality hairdressers we currently have within the town centre, Greg Couzens recently held a presentation at Bury College for 26 salon owners, who enquired about his product range and if it was available for local salons to sell.
